Main chairs of IAM department

Institute for Informatics and Mathematical Modelling of Technological Processes of KSC RAS (IIMM KSC RAS) has three main chairs at the department of Applied mathematics and informatics (IAM) of the Kola Branch of Petrozavodsk State University (KB PSU) in Apatity, Murmansk region: 

1. Information technologies chair (IT). It was founded in cooperation with KB PSU in 1997 and provides training of students from IAM department of KB PSU in specialty 230102 “Automated systems for information processing and control”.
2. Information systems chair (IS). It was founded in cooperation with KB PSU in 1999 and provides training of students in specialty 230201 –“Information systems and technologies”.
3. Applied mathematics chair (AM). It was founded in cooperation with KB PSU in 2001 and provides training of students in specialty 010200 “Applied mathematics and informatics”.
   The members of integrated educational establishments (IEE) perform studies according to the plans of SRW from IIMM KSC RAS which are state-funded.  

Subjects of scientific studies:

• Methods and models for structural synthesis of problem-oriented regional information systems;
• Methods and models of sustainable development strategies for regional socio-economic systems (Murmansk region taken as an example);
• Situation control for technological processes of minerals concentration and decision support systems in regional nature-industrial complexes’ safety;
• Information technologies of regional macro systems including information technologies controlling regional innovations development (Murmansk region taken as an example).
